One of my favorite parts about helping couples plan their dream elopement is sending over lodging ideas. Of course nobody HAS to book the places I send over! But helping to find beautiful places to host couples for such an incredible event is always such an honor. It’s also no surprise that photographing Marquette elopements is one of my favorites, so I wanted to make this post as a little resource for those of you looking for a beautiful place!

So many couples are realizing that eloping doesn’t always have to mean running off to a stale courthouse. Eloping is about creating a day about doing what you love, whether that’s spending the day with just the two of you, some close family or friends, surrounded by nature, going for a boat ride – you name it!

Luxury Beach House in the Woods – Champion, MI

I know these two haven’t been the CLOSEST to Marquette, but how could I leave this one out?! If you’ve followed me for awhile this AirBnB might look familiar to you, and it’s one that’s very special to me because it’s where my partner Todd and I got married last July!! It’s crazy that that already feels like a lifetime ago, and I still really need to share my own photos of that day (until then you can see some photos from my amazing & incredibly talented friend/photographer Danielle Aisling here). It’s the perfect spot to host your own intimate wedding with your friends or family, or to just have a beautiful place to stay!

“Newly remodeled! Come and watch the sunset over the lake each night from both the main living and huge walkout basement! Who doesn’t love an A-frame cabin?! Especially one that has some beautiful, woodsy views AND a private beach!? This might be one of the best AirBnB gems out there. It’s a very cozy, quaint cabin perfect if you’re looking for something simple. It’s also only a few minute drive from the heart of Marquette!

Trestle Building Loft – Marquette, MI

This AirBnb is in the heart of downtown Marquette, in an incredible location right above the Zephyr wine bar! It’s a super spacious loft with tons of beautiful natural light, which makes it an incredible spot to have as a hub to get ready in and stay in for your upper peninsula elopement experience! One of the weddings I photographed chose to get ready here before their wedding at the Lake Superior Theatre, you can see some photos of it on my blog post here!

Luxury Beachfront Estate – Deerton, MI – FAVORITE FOR UPPER PENINSULA ELOPEMENT!

In case my all-caps didn’t alert you, this home is one of my FAVORITES that I found! Not only is it on a private beachfront which would be amazing for an intimate wedding, but the entire interior is also absolutely gorgeous. A beautiful deck, sauna, and TONS of natural light – I am just dreaming of all the wedding possibilities here!

“Beautiful home situated on a sandy beach between Shot Point and Laughing Whitefish Point. The beach is so private you will be hard pressed to see another person during your stay! A short drive from downtown Marquette (10 miles) and a quick trip to Munising (just down M28). Enjoy grilling on the deck, traditional Finnish sauna followed by a cool dip or paddle on the lake. Another house on the beautiful Lake Michigamme, this home would be amazing for a little post-elopement mini reception or afterparty. I can already picture the bonfires, sunset boat rides, late-night swimming, and partying on this amazing lakeside deck.

This is another favorite of mine because of its floor-to-cieling windows and its unique design! The interior of this home is also beautiful, with lots of wood and minimalist furniture. It’s a beautiful, private home with lakefront access (and a really cool rocky beach I might add)!

Random Point Treehouse – Marquette, MI – ANOTHER UPPER PENINSULA ELOPEMENT FAVORITE!

This is another one that immediately made me DREAM of all the possibilities. The house itself has the most beautiful windows, a gorgeous kitchen, and more. And not only does it have lake views – it has THE lake views – aka a clear view right to Little Presque!!! And a private beach and trails!??! Need I say more!?!?

Luxury Au Train Lake Log Home – Au Train, MI

This home is absolutely stunning, and offers beautiful views of water, woods, and of course is super private! Imagine spending your wedding morning having coffee with your partner on a deck with a view like that? What a dream!

It’s only a few minutes away from downtown Marquette as well, so it would be the perfect hub for a post-elopement party after you’ve explored the Black Rocks or Sugarloaf Mountain, or to even have your elopement at!
