I’m pretty sure this is one of those days I’ll just be dreaming about for the rest of forever!! Tess + Curran’s incredible spring micro wedding at Lake of the Clouds was absolutely unreal. They knew they wanted to get married in Michigan somewhere really unique and beautiful, without a ton of crowds. And the Porcupine Mountains ended up being the most perfect spot! Them and their loved ones traveled from all over to celebrate with Tess + Curran in this gorgeous area, and to say it was incredible is an understatement. Keep reading to learn more about all of the adventures they shared on their spring micro wedding at Lake of the Clouds!

Tess + Curran chose to get ready separately so they could share a first look! They each got ready with their families, in some absolutely beautiful AirBnBs. The cabin that Tess + Curran stayed in is where they also did their first look at had their families over to celebrate later, and it was seriously one of my favorite AirBnBs I’ve ever been to!

The ceremony could NOT have been more beautiful!! We hiked out to a gorgeous cliff overlooking the lake, where they shared their vows overlooking the Lake of the Clouds. This time of year ended up being so perfect – not too hot or cold, and before summer vacation started so we had almost the entire place to ourselves! If you are considering having a Porcupine Mountains elopement, late spring is an amazing time to have one!

After the ceremony, Tess + Curran wanted to share a little adventure with just the two of them. We ventured out to a local waterfall, where we spent some time exploring and they exchanged private vows in front of the falls. We then wandered over to the Lake Superior shoreline for a picnic along the water, and a couple of rounds of uno! Adding experiences like that is one of the best parts about eloping. You can really make your day 100% your own, and do whatever you want!!

To say the day ended with the BEST vibes would be an understatement. Tess + Curran followed up their mini adventures with pizza on the deck during golden hour with their families! After dinner they shared cake, champagne, and a bonfire on the beach before their families left to give them some time to take everything in and celebrate with just the two of them. To them, that meant snuggling up on the beach with some cocoa and playing with sparklers! One of the best parts about having a micro wedding or elopement is that you can truly make your day yours, and do whatever you want – which is exactly what these two did!

Photographing an elopement at the Porcupine Mountains has been on my bucket list for years, and being able to be a part of Tess + Curran’s day here was better than I could have imagined. Their day was entirely them – from the locations, spritzes over uno, to sunset cocoa on the beach. It’s a day I felt so honored to be a part of, and so overjoyed to be able to capture it!
