Adventurous Elopement at Hogback Mountain in Marquette, MI

While I don’t think it would be possible to pick a favorite single set of photos from a wedding day I was lucky enough to be a part of, this one is definitely high on the list. There’s just something amazing about not only mother nature showing her beauty for this Hogback Mountain elopement, but also being surrounded by the most beautiful group of humans that makes every moment shine. I’m pretty sure I smiled throughout every second of Adam & Emily’s celebrations. Which, if you knew them, tracks since it’s pretty much impossible to not smile when you’re around them. You can see how much they love each other in every glance they share, or every inside joke they giggle at, this is what soulmates look like. Being able to photograph true love like this is such an amazing feeling. And having such an AMAZING backdrop was just the cherry on top of a wonderful day. I am so excited to be finally sharing these with you all!

A Hogback Mountain elopement is no simple feat, however. It’s a 3.1 mile hike of rocky uphill terrain, which these two made look like a relaxed stroll in the woods. But the views at the top are absolutely unbeatable (which you can tell by the photos!)

Marquette is one of my favorite spots for elopements because it has such a variety of everything! From amazing mountain view like this or Sugarloaf, to the blackrocks, gorgeous beaches, rivers, waterfalls – you name it. This is one of those beautiful locations with views of Lake Superior and miles of forests!
