Michigan upper peninsula waterfall elopement in Marquette, MI.
You all know how much of an advocate I am for Michigan’s beauty (definitely not a secret)! But seriously, the best part of being Michigan Elopement Photographer and being a part of days like this. There are so many beautiful spots to elope, but planning a Michigan upper peninsula waterfall elopement is one of the best! We have some of the most beautiful waterfalls here, and they are just the most beautiful, intimate spots for your ceremony. I have soooo many favorites from this day, scroll down to see more of these beautiful souls!
These two were SUCH troopers when it came to hiking to the falls. Being a Michigan Elopement Photographer I’ve seen many wedding dress hikes, but this hike into this basin took the cake!
The bouquet was one of my favorite parts, and I was SO pumped with how it turned out! I made it out of dead branches I found on a local hike that morning, and bought a couple of flowers to spruce it up from an incredible local florist. Foraging your own bouquet (as long as you respect nature & local wildflower laws) can be a really cool & eco-friendly alternative!

[…] Michigan has some incredible scenery, it’s just a little spread out! We have everything from waterfalls to dunes, islands, cliffs, rocky shoreline, Caribbean blue waters, gorgeous forests, fields, and […]
[…] One of my favorites. Miners Falls flows 50 feet over a sandstone outcrop, and is the park’s most powerful waterfall. You can access this beautiful area by a trail, which is a 1.2 mile walk round trip! The trail isn’t paved but it’s very walkable, which makes getting to the overlook of the waterfall pretty easy. Getting into the basin is a little bit more challenging, where you’ll have to carefully climb down 20ish feet of a semi-steep bank. I’ve done it with multiple couples in wedding attire, and nobody has gotten anything messed up yet so it’s not too bad to get down in there! And the view is unbelievable. Everything from the falls, lighting, and colorful sandstone walls is absolutely beautiful. To see some more photos from this session at Miners Falls, click here! […]
